Leather bound limited edition number 208 of 295 books produced, signed by Norman Ackroyd and David Rayvern Allen to limitation label to inside front board. In the pocket at the front is an accompanying signed and numbered etching of a portrait of Arlott by Ackroyd, together with an unsigned reproduction of the same etching. VG

Norman Ackroyd (RA) is Britain's best known etcher. He is also a lover of wine and poetry and an enthusiastic cricketer. Subscriber number 512 was Wilberforce Hamer of Edgeware Road, Blackburn. Hamer was a committee member of Lancashire C.C.C. and for many years captained East Lancashire C.C. He also played football for Blackburn Rovers with the famous Lancashire and England Test cricketer, A.N. Hornby. Hamer died in 1907 aged 44

The book was published in three versions, one with an engraved portrait of Lillywhite, a second with portraits of four Players, the third with portraits of four Players and four Gentlemen. This version has the portrait of Lillywhite. Bookplate of J.W. Goldman to inside front cover and handwritten note in pencil in Goldman's hand, 'Epworth £8/8- Nov 1955'. Padwick 386.
