Original wrappers, excellent colour front wrapper featuring a large rugby ball, emu and lion. Presentation copy to Gilbert Jessop (Gloucestershire & England cricketer 1894-1914) from the Editor. ''Gilbert Jessop Esq- with J.A. Butterys Compliments'. Bound in cream boards with red edge to spine. Very rare publication by the Daily Mail in London covering the 1905 Original All Blacks tour of the UK, winning every game except that single loss of 3-0 to wales in disputed circumstances. Game by game analysis together with editorial articles by the NZ Captain Dave Gallaher "The Secret of our Success", Gwyn Nicholls the Welsh Captain, Cartwright the English Captain, Lamond a Scottish International and others. Old tape repair to spine, some minor wear internally otherwise in good condition

Scarce second and third edition of the Almanack, the second edition with original paper wrappers, the third edition with original rear wrapper, lacking original front wrapper. The second edition with broken spine block, page sections becoming loose, almost complete loss of spine paper, wear, soiling and age toning to original wrappers, some minor loss to wrapper corners and extremities otherwise in generally good condition, the third edition with wear and small tear to first advertising page, tape repair to edge of rear wrapper, some minor wear and soiling to rear wrapper and spine paper otherwise in good condition. Richings and published by C.Mitchell & Co of London 1931. Official programme for France v England, Stade Olympique, Paris , 24th February 1962 (France won 13-0). Includes four pages of notes handwritten by Jim Swanton, where he has recorded incidents at various times during the match, presumably for a newspaper report. Rugby histories are 'Rugby Football at Cheltenham College 1844-1944', E. Scot Skirving, Cheltenham 1945. 'Old Whitgiftian Rugby Football Club 1901 -1951', and 'Part II 1951-1960', both titles edited by Ian S. Hubbard. Each title from the collection of the noted cricket writer, E.W. Swanton, with his bookplate to each. Odd minor faults, otherwise in good condition. Qty 5
