Cricket World Cup 1999. Excellent collection of twelve 'Gunn & Moore' full size cricket bats signed by the competing teams in the World Cup Finals held in England in 1999. Each bat has a printed heading to the top of the bat ie '1999 Cricket World Cup' and the team name and signed by the teams playing squad beneath. The teams are New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Australia, England, West Indies, Zimbabwe, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Scotland, Bangladesh and Kenya. Signatures include Lara, Ambrose, Walsh, Ranatunga, Jayasuriya, Fleming, Cairns, Vettori, Stewart, Gough, Flintoff, Tikolo, Flower, Streak, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Cronje, Klussener, Pollock, Donald, Waugh, Warne, Gilchrist, McGrath, Ponting, Azharuddin, Tendulkar, Kumble etc. Two of the bats have been signed using a slightly thicker pen. Odd minor faults otherwise in good/very good condition

John Brian Statham. Lancashire & England 1950-1968. A cricket stump used in the first Test, New Zealand v England at Christchurch, 17th-21st March 1951, in which Statham made his Test debut. The stump signed in ink by Statham, with a label below inscribed by Statham, 'N.Z. v England, Christchurch 1951. My first Test'. Sold with an accompanying letter of authenticity written in Statham's hand on Lancashire C.C.C. letterhead, very nicely signed by Statham, in which he describes making his debut, taking his first Test wicket, that of Bert Sutcliffe, and Trevor Bailey scoring his only Test century. G/VG

The first Test match was drawn. In New Zealand's first innings Sutcliffe scored 116 before being dismissed by Statham. Bailey achieved his highest Test score of 134no in England's only innings

Full size Gunn & Moore 'The Autograph' bat signed to the face in ink by ten members of the Australian touring party and the eleven members of the Nottinghamshire team for the tour match played at Trent Bridge, 6th- 9th July 1968, also signed to the shoulders by Sobers and one other. Australian's signatures are Lawry (Captain), Jarman, Cowper, McKenzie, Sheahan, Walters, Redpath, Hawke, Gleeson, Mallett and Freeman. The Nottinghamshire signatures include Bolus (Captain), Murray, Smedley, Hassan, Forbes, Halfyard etc. Fading to some signatures, that of Halfyard almost illegible. Also signed to the verso by four county sides from the 1968 season, Derbyshire (12 signatures), Somerset (12) including Greg Chappell who played against the Australians captained by his brother, Ian, Yorkshire (12) and Glamorgan (11). Sold with two other miniature bats, one a 1960s William Gunn 'Autograph' bat signed to the face by ten Sussex players including Dexter, Oakman, Suttle, Buss etc, and to the verso by eleven Worcestershire players including Horton, Booth, Gifford, Slade, Flavell etc. The other a Gray Nicholls miniature bat signed by thirteen members of the 1979 India team. 'D.C.H. Townsend. Winchester v Marlborough June 11th 1931. The Hat Trick'. Cricket ball with which David Townsend (Oxford University & England) playing for Winchester took three wickets in three balls dismissing A.C. Uniacke, F.K. McNamara and M.S. Page in Marlborough's first innings in 1931. Townsend opened the batting and made 34 in Winchester's innings. Winchester won the match by seven wickets. G
